Inclusion at the protected workshops

Inclusion and social sustainability are more than just fine words - it requires action

With Crateit is inclusion and social sustainability not just values - they are an integral part of our production. For more than three years we have worked closely with protected workshops throughout Denmark, where employees with different restrictions are responsible for the entire production of our products.

Today we collaborate with over 10 protected workshops, which extend from Saabu in Sønderborg to a threepass in Viborg to the Green Mote Workshop in Svendborg - virtually all of Denmark. These workshops allow people with special needs to be part of a meaningful working community where they not only get a positive experience with the labor market, but where we at Crateit Also, our products are produced in the best possible way.

Our partnership is built on a common ambition to create inclusion in the labor market, strengthen the community and ensure a socially sustainable production.

How does a protected workshop work?

The various protected workshops we work with each consist of a group of people with different special needs, which is responsible for everything from the production of the wooden toys to the packing of the boxes that we sell. They work after a designed process that they are used to and that make them also enjoy the work. Some workshops have educators to help with any problems that may arise.

However, it is usually completely unnecessary with the help of educators, as our employees at the protected workshops have complete control over how to make the products. The community in the workshops also makes them good at helping each other should arise.

Inclusion at the protected workshops

Why is social sustainability and inclusion important to us?

With Crateit we believe that business and responsibility go hand in hand. Social sustainability and inclusion Isn't just something we're talking about - it's something we actively work for every day. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute and be part of a working community, regardless of prerequisites.

By working with protected workshops, we ensure that people with special needs have access to meaningful employment where they develop their skills and experience job satisfaction.

It is a great passion for us, which our owner Martin also describes well here:

"We have a passion for helping people who are not necessarily born with the same cards on hand as the rest of us. We know how much work is of our lives and how proud you can be of their work." -Martin Wibe Kristensen (Co-Founder)

We also hope that our way of doing business will get rid of other companies. So everyone Want to contribute to the social transition and show that inclusion and community in the labor market is not just an opportunity - that is a necessity.
